Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Responsible for the daily operation of the fresh production line.
  • Responsible for ensuring the correct number of employees are in position to run the fresh line.
  • Delegate each employee their tasks for the day.
  • Ensure all employees are working according to all Safety and GMP regulations.
  • Responsible for sending employees to breaks and lunches.
  • Inform supervisor of any inconsistencies.
  • Train employees on GMP and Safety policies.
  • Train employees on SOP’s
  • Conduct alchemy training.
  • Inspect and document pre-operational safety and cleanliness.
  • Monitor the assembly of equipment and be able help assemble and operate all equipment on the fresh line.
  • Test all equipment and inform maintenance of necessary repairs on the machinery prior to starting production
  • Verify and document that equipment is properly set up.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for the day.
  • Monitor and control machine settings as needed.
  • Monitor and record product and process data to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor, document, and take action on downtime.
  • Report any damage to or failure on equipment.
  • Monitor the operation of the equipment and make basic adjustments and repairs as needed.
  • If needed, disassemble and clean parts if defective product is being produced.
  • Adjust speed of line depending on product conditions and demand of the line.
  • Monitor, document, and take corrective action on downtime, inspections, rework, machine settings, and tooling as needed.
  • Assist other group leaders and machine operators as needed.
  • Work with supervisors, HR, and safety departments to work through incident investigations.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to monitor that products meet specifications (watch for defects, foreign materials, etc.).
  • Work with maintenance to troubleshoot and prevent equipment failures.
  • Notify proper departments and supervisors of any issues.
  • Communicate line status to the other shifts and departments.
  • Implement changes and help with training on process improvements for Safety, Quality, Efficiency, etc.
  • Follow company GMP, SSOP, food safety, and company rules/procedures.
  • Follow all LOTO and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
  • Clean equipment and the area as needed.
  • Performs related duties as assigned
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Scheduled days off may vary depending on production demands.
  • Weekend work will be required.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and written.
  • 6 months on the floor training
