Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for review and oversight of activities involved in ensuring the safe production of a wide range of products in compliance with company, customer and government requirements that meet required quality specifications.

  • Ensure operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in the areas of quality, good manufacturing practices, hazard analysis and critical control points, and others as established by reviewing records and ensuring compliance prior to final preshipment review.

  • Manage onsite storage and destruction of records in line with OSI document retention policies.

  • Maintain calibration and certification records. Schedule annual onsite visits with vendors to perform these tasks.

  • Participate in the transitions between shifts, as needed, and communicate key information to peers, team members and Production Management.

  • Prepare a variety of routine and special reports that document testing activities, test results, and operational issues involving product quality and safety such as swab tests, finished product tests, and HACCP audits.

  • Cross-train with QA technicians to enable assistance with vacation/weekend coverage.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field or GED/high school diploma with 1-3 years of relevant experience in food or related industry.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and high attention to detail.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
