Regulatory Specialist (FDA and USDA)

OSI Group Aurora, IL (Onsite) Full-Time

This role will onboard new products from idealization to production. This role will also need to communicate with R&D, sales, production, FDA, USDA and ingredient suppliers to retrieve key information to support decisions involving labeling, claims, exporting compliance and other inquiries.

• Manage product changes.
• Responsible for the technical information at is relates to our products.
• Verify products are meeting regulatory and customer requirements.
• Gather product information to onboard into our ERP system.
• Implement product changes in our internal and external systems.
• Onboard products to GDSN network.
• Lead projects that involve implementing new regulatory requirements.
• Develop SOPs, guidance documents and training materials.
• Oversee label and label approvals.
• This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 5-10 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• High experience using FDA and USDA food regulations, specifications, and labeling preferred.
• Expert with ERP and GDSN systems preferred.
• Expert in using customer portals preferred.
• Strong problem solving, organization, and time management skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
• Ability to handle complexity, multiple projects, and work under tight timelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others to bring projects to completion.
• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.

Job Requirements:

• BA/BS or equivalent is preferred
• Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.
• Work conditions are typical of an office environment.
• This role requires 10% domestic travel.
• Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 15 pounds
• Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
• Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Less than 4 hours.
