Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for supporting full life cycle recruitment and sourcing activities as well as general employee relations activity as directed.

MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Place job postings, screen resumes, pre-screen candidates as assigned following prescribed procedures.
  • Also schedules interview and orders and verifies background investigation reports; notifying manager of background irregularities.
  • Maintain records, files and reports in support of recruitment activity.
  • Maintain college relations program by attending college job fairs, interviewing students, making recommendations and maintaining communications with college representatives.
  • Coordinate the summer intern program by scheduling intern candidate interviews with plant personnel, extending offers, coordinating temporary housing arrangements and planning and organizing the annual Intern Day at the Corporate Office.
  • Maintain records, files and reports in support of the Annual Affirmative Action Plans and provide support to associated affirmative action activity.
  • Provide back-up HR support to plant locations (Chicago area based) on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain records, files and reports in support of Unemployment Compensation Control program.
  • Schedules hearings, processes paperwork and prepares cases for review.
  • Processes incoming verifications of employment, child support orders, wage assignments, garnishments and other legal documents served on the company in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management preferred or equivalent knowledge, skills and ability. Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational and interpersonal skills.
