Job Description

The HR Specialist will provide ongoing system support to a variety of applications used in the HR function including, but not limited to, time and attendance, talent management, applicant tracking and learning management systems. Activities include user security administration, end user training, and application troubleshooting and basic system configuration and the creation and maintaining workforce metrics and analytics for the Human Resource department. This position will also support numerous HR projects throughout the fiscal year in the areas of benefits enrollment, compensation, training and compliance.

  • System Maintenance: Assist in the review, testing and implementation of all HRIS system upgrades or configuration updates related to business process changes. Collaborate with functional HR, Payroll, IT, and plant facilities to coordinate application of upgrades or changes.
  • Production Support: Research and resolve HRIS problems or unexpected results, perform scheduled activities such as exports or third party reporting, recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet business process requirements. Develop and maintain security protocols; create, maintain, and terminate user access as required.
  • Reports/Queries: Write, maintain and support a variety of complex reports or queries using Cognos. Assist in the development and running of weekly, monthly and yearly standard and custom reports to support department initiatives. Help maintain data integrity through the use of periodic audit reports and data analysis based on a thorough knowledge of organization structure and employment practices.
  • Gathering and analyzing data using statistical methods and applications to report on key metrics, trends and takeaways across all areas of human resources and talent management.
  • Developing and optimizing strategic HR reports (HR Scorecard, HR dashboards, workforce planning) that are aligned with business requirements.
  • Training: Support the organizational training systems by develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train end users on new processes/functionality as needed. Assist in the development of training tools for users/managers as needed. Assist with reporting and data analytics.
  • System Integration: Identify methods of linking systems through interfaces, imports, exports and reports. Create and maintain effective interfaces.
  • Building, deploying and analyzing employee surveys and summarizing results to key stakeholders.
  • Serving as an active participant on cross-functional project teams in the areas of benefits, compensation, compliance and training.
  • Demonstrating good judgement and discretion with dealing with highly sensitive data.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee data and organization plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of Human Resources processes and best practices including but not limited to performance management, compensation management, and recruitment.
  • Ability to assess and analyze complex business needs and conceptualize creative solutions.
  • Experience with Human Resources technology products.
  • Ability to effectively interact with associates at all levels within the organization.
  • Developed written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Thorough understanding of how business strategies drive talent initiatives.
  • Intermediate/ Advanced Windows-based including, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Internet Explorer and Outlook.
  • A Bachelor’s degree preferred in HR, IT or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands or finger, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, or controls; may be required to lift up to 15 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision to a computer screen.
