Job Description

The Manager, IT Infrastructure Services will plan, design, implement and support the corporate-wide system infrastructure through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team and vendor managed services. This hands on position will be also responsible for the management of the IT Service Desk. He or she will provide technology strategy and leadership which aligns with the organization’s current and future goals. He or she will also apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the organization on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of infrastructure for all systems.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Establish strategic views and roadmaps for enterprise infrastructure and the IT Service Desk.
  • Ensure infrastructure systems have an appropriate disaster recovery plan.
  • Create and manage infrastructure lifecycle management strategy and process.
  • Establish proactive operational measures to reduce production downtime incidents.
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver, maintain, and operate enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Perform overall day-to-day management of multiple projects to ensure that project objectives are achieved within time/cost/quality constraints.
  • Integrate security standards and processes into daily work to meet and sustain compliance with the company’s security practices.
  • Create appropriate policy and procedures to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of infrastructure best practices; ensure process and infrastructure documentation is relevant, current and leveraged.
  • Manage planning for resource availability, capacity and scalability of all hardware, software, network and communication systems.
  • Install, implement, configure and monitor equipment and software/firmware for all components of the company LAN, WAN, storage and servers.
  • Manage and direct the company’s data network infrastructure including establishing strategies for Internet, local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) connections.
  • Manage and direct the company’s workstation, desktop/laptop strategy.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork among staff members.
  • Establish departmental goals and align staff work duties to ensure goals are accomplished.
  • Perform resource planning to ensure all active projects are staffed and completed successfully.
  • Compile and maintain inventory of company infrastructure and systems and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
  • Manage company’s infrastructure vendors and partners for prompt resolution of any problems or emergencies.
  • Create and maintain appropriate management metrics for the department.
  • Manage infrastructure budget.
  • Manage all vendor and partner relationships for network and systems.
  • Manage all license contracts and negotiation.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant IT experience required; experience must include:
    • Minimum of two (2) years IT technical management experience
    • Minimum of five (5) years of IT hands on infrastructure experience
  • Knowledge of ITIL process management preferred.
  • Technical understanding of MPLS, VPN, VOIP, virus protection, cyber-security, firewalls, routers, switches, servers, workstations, storage management, and MS/VMWare virtualization.
  • Experience with Office365 and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with IT cloud services which would include telephony, application clouds, and general off-premise computing solutions required.
  • Strong communication skills necessary.
  • Proven ability to handle complex problems and provide innovative solutions.
  • Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands or finger, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, or controls; may be required to lift up to 15 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision to a computer screen
