Job Description

  • Designs, implements, administers, updates, and monitors all environmental and safety programs which meets OSHA, IOSH, OSI Corporate, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new equipment, lines or processes by identifying potential safety hazards and recommending solutions.
  • Provide counsel to managers and employees on safety issues identified, to include corrective measures and disciplinary actions as needed including preparation and writing written reports.
  • Responsible for shutting down any production line, if necessary, where safety rule violations are occurring to correct violations; once violations are corrected authorizes start-up of production line.
  • Oversee workplace safety orientation for new employees.
  • Interview and select plant safety committee members, prepare contents for and conduct monthly safety/ergonomics meetings.
  • Develop and conduct safety training sessions on an annual and as needed basis.
  • Works with corporate insurance, production supervisors, injured employees and others on Workers’ Compensation Claims and ensures compliance with return to work/restricted duties
  • Evaluates and tracks incident investigations. Provides feedback to management on proper completion of the investigation and effective corrective actions.
  • Evaluates injury, incident, and safety statistical data to provide feedback and applicable reports to management on trends, and offers recommendations for corrective action, if necessary.
  • Coordinates security functions for the facility and acts as the Facility's Security Coordinator.
  • Coordinates with OSI Corporate on safety issues as needed.
  • Administers and trains Management and Safety Committee Members on E. I. DuPont's STOP Safety Program.
  • Coordinates all functions to comply with all corporate environmental, safety, and health audits.
  • Perform Regular Plant Safety Audits – on all shifts.
  • Coordinates consistent safety walkthroughs with supervisors and managers.
  • Leads monthly trainings for all plant employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
