Job Description


This position requires assisting the Bacon Microwave Supervisor in all phases of managing the department. This department is responsible for managing and maintaining all goals, yields, efficiencies, variances and quality standards associated with slicing, microwaving (if necessary), grading and packing strip bacon.


(Essential duties for which this position is responsible.) 

  • Daily tasks of filling in for absenteeism and/or training with both new hire and long term employees.
  • Employee to be knowledgeable of all product specifications in slab bacon.
  • Employee to understand and be able to run all equipment in the department.
  • Employee to be knowledgeable of all departmental procedures in the department from the tempering cooler to the bacon box cooler.
  • Employee to be knowledgeable of all paperwork; both on-line paperwork and end of shift paperwork for the department.
  • Employee to assist supervisor in monitoring of all HACCP and GMP issues to ensure compliance with both USDA regulations and company standards.
  • Employee to development communications skills to be able to direct, support and discipline other employees working under them.
  • Employee to learn and understand all aspects of his Supervisors position so that he can replace him/her in their absence or promotion.
  • Assist Supervisor in supervising all production aspects of the department including yields, waste, efficiency, goals and quality.
  • Assist the supervisor in any project or assignment per their request.

Job Requirements


High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Past History in the meat industry preferred

People handling and communications skills.

Internal Applicants Strongly Preferred.
