OSI was founded in 1909 by Otto Kolschowsky as a family-owned butcher shop in the Chicago area. Our history represents more than a century of strategic growth, driven by our customers and their market needs.

Today, OSI is one of the largest privately-held food processing companies in the world. But we still operate with the same entrepreneurial spirit that has been the foundation of our management philosophy and is part of our heritage. This philosophy has driven our success and has resulted in OSI being ranked #58 on the 2016 Forbes list of America’s largest private companies. We are proud to be recognized among the top ten processors of beef, pork and chicken in the industry.
