Corporate Executive Chef

OSI Group Aurora, IL (Onsite) Full-Time

This role is responsible for developing new and innovative products to meet the needs of customers across a variety of food preparation, sales and distribution outlets. Work closely with external customer and internal sales, product development, and commercialization staff.  This role is a key member of the North America Leadership team.

•       Job manages a team, has authority to hire and performance-manage the team.

•       Job leads/supervises/manages 1-5 employees.

•       Apply culinary creativity and expertise to the development of innovative new food products that can be adapted to a manufacturing process and that meet the stated and anticipated needs of the organization’s existing and potential customers.

•       Participate in sales presentations by preparing effective product demonstrations and clearly communicating product information, processing capabilities, and product potential to customers.

•       Manage all activities within the culinary center including directing the work of others involved in product cuttings, center maintenance, and ingredient/raw material supplies.

•       Research and understand potential of culinary and taste trends in the marketplace; effectively translate ideas into viable product concepts and sales solutions.

•       Partner with sales, product development and commercialization staff to bring product ideas into manufacturing production.

  • Staying current on developing trends in the food industry.
  • Maintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet the company standards and health code regulations.
  • Hiring, training, and overseeing the culinary and kitchen staff.
  • Identifying and introducing new culinary techniques.

•       This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures.  This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.

Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

•       5-10 years of experience in related field is preferred.  In the food/manufacturing industry.

•       Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.

•       Understanding of the product commercialization process and further processing.

•       Experience developing recipes for the protein category.

•       Good verbal and written communication skills and can present to higher levels within an organization.

•       Good budgeting skills and can demonstrate to forecast and budget the culinary function.

•       Associates degree or equivalent is required. In Culinary Arts.

•       Advanced Culinary degree/experience in a plus.

Current certifications within the Illinois Department of Health (ServSafe).

•       Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.

•       Work conditions are typical of an office & plant environment.

•       This role requires 30% domestic travel.

•       Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds

•       Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.

•       Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Greater than 4 hours.
